Joint Committee on Education Chair

Senator Jason Lewis was elected to the State Senate in 2014, where he serves the people of the Fifth Middlesex District of Massachusetts, which includes Malden, Melrose, Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield and parts of Winchester. He serves as the Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Education, the Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development, and the Assistant Vice Chair of the Senate Ways and Means Committee. He is a member of the Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Businesses, the Joint Committee on Marijuana Policy and Senate Committee on Redistricting. He also co-founded and co-chairs the Legislature’s Prevention for Health Caucus.

Senator Lewis prioritizes education, healthcare and economic opportunity for all. Prior to his election to the Senate, Lewis served for five years in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He lives in Winchester with his wife, Susan, and their two daughters, Sophie and Jessie.
