Senator Marc R. Pacheco serves as Dean of the Massachusetts Senate having represented the 1st Plymouth & Bristol District since 1993.  He is founding Chair of the Standing Senate Committee on Global Warming & Climate Change, Chair of the Joint Committee on State Administration & Regulatory Oversight, and Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities, & Energy. He was appointed by the Council of State Governments (CSG) to the National Future of Work Task Force as Co-Chair of the Subcommittee on Smart Government, and as Co-Chair of the Eastern Regional Conference (ERC) Energy & Environment Committee.  He also serves on the CSG/ERC Territorial Relations Committee and the National Conference of State Legislature’s Task Force on Energy Supply.

Throughout his career, Senator Pacheco has supported initiatives to foster local and global economic partnerships, secure a clean energy future, and protect the rights of veterans, women, and seniors.  He lives in Taunton with his wife, Barbara, and their lovable Cairn Terrier, Duffy.
